We understand the stress involved with leaving your pets behind while on business or vacation travel. Kennels and Dog Day Care Centers are wonderful (a good tool for socializing your pet), but these facilities cannot avoid the battle of infections and bacteria contamination due to several animals occupying the facility. In addition to paying your kennel fee, often, you will have an issue where you'll need to take your pet to the vet because of an infection while being in contact with so many animals. Also, it has been noted in several animal behavior studies, that your furry pets experience stress due to your absence and will develop bowel problems such as diarrhea and sometimes vomiting. In-home pet care alleviates these problems because your pets are left in the familar surroundings of their home. |
CBS Channel 4 News Investigates Doggy Daycare Violations - Aired 11/05/07
We strongly encourage our website viewers and clients to be very careful when choosing a dog care facility or boarding facility. This investigative report by Rick Sallinger of Channel 4 News on doggy daycare facilities in Denver and surrounding cities of Denver was very enlightening. The City of Denver and other municipalities in the area do not monitor and/or check on the regulations/guidelines of these facilites to operate properly to ensure your pet's safety. The major violation found was there was not enough staff to properly supervise the amount of animals in the facility and the play areas were not maintaining the appropriate large and small breed population (ie. putting small dogs in with the larger dogs, etc.). Please be very careful when choosing a daycare facility for your pet!
